Betty J. Myers

Betty J. Myers, 90, of Collins, Ohio, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the Stein Hospice Care Center.

She was born February 22, 1923 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Leon H. and Edna (Cullen) Matter and was a lifelong area resident. Betty was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Wakeman, Ohio and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, yard work, reading, crossword puzzle books, sewing, and going on nature walks. She especially enjoyed the love of her family.

Betty is survived by her children, Carl (Elaine) Myers of Norwalk, Ohio, Tom (Kathy) Myers of Collins, Ohio, Nancy (Duane) Molnar of Miramar, Florida, Jim Myers of Hollywood, Florida, Bernard (June) Myers of Collins, Ohio and Rodger Myers of Collins, Ohio, 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her siblings, Melba Johns of Sandusky, Ohio, June Illig of Sandusky, Ohio, Marlene Pocock of Sandusky, Ohio, Patricia Swander of Arizona, Elwood (Woody) Matter of Fremont, Ohio, and Dean Matter of Sandusky, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Joseph Myers , by her son Ralph in infancy, by her siblings, Gertrude Wobser, Mildred Bertschi, Oliver "Bus" Matter, and Leon Matter, by her brother in law and sister in law, Paul and Minerva Myers and by her sister in law and brother in law, Mary Therese and Bob Nagy.

Friends may call on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Chaplain Melvin Sayler will officiate. Interment will be in Collins Cemetery.
