Dorothy K. Moffit

Dorothy K. Moffit, 81, of Norwalk, Ohio died Saturday, June 8, 2013 in The University of Toledo Medical Center.

She was born August 28, 1931 in Roseland, Nebraska, to the late John and Katherine (Huffman) Miller and came to the Norwalk, Ohio area in 1940 from Roseland Nebraska. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a former employee of Norwalk Truck Lines. She was also the former owner of Moffit's Beauty Shoppe in Norwalk, Ohio for 40 years, retiring in 2004. Dorothy enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and her weekly card club.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William H. "Bill" Moffit of Norwalk, Ohio, by her children, Bruce H. Moffit and Jon Hendrickson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Craig J. and Debra (Spettle) Moffit of Norwalk, Ohio, and Keith J. and Colleen (Landoll) Moffit of Norwalk, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Troy Henry, Angela Moffit, Erin Johnson, Ashley Thompson, Brian Preston, Amanda Moffit, Hilliary Dalton-Moffit, Emily Dalton-Moffit, Abigail Moffit, Logan, Moffit, Owen Moffit, and Gavin Moffit, and 7 great grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by her sisters, Geraldine Wilhelm of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Bonnie Sciera of Homer, New York.

She was preceded in death by her daughter in infancy, Patricia in 1956, by her daughter, LaDonna Henry in 2008, by her brothers, Lawrence Miller, Robert Miller, and William Miller and by her sister, Marguerite Tinker.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
