George Michael  Rinner

George Michael Rinner, 77, of Norwalk, went home to be with his Lord Friday, July 19, 2013. Following a brief illness, George passed away at home with his family by his side.

He was born June 14, 1936 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Peter and Mary (Goretzki) Rinner.
George was a 1955 graduate of Norwalk St. Paul. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force who proudly served his country from 1955 to 1961 as an Airman 2nd Class. He was stationed at Shaw Airforce Base in Sumter, SC where he met his loving wife of 53 years. He was employed by HUG Concrete/ Oglesby Construction for 50 years as a foreman, and worked for several years as a superintendent before his retirement in 2005. George was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 711, and VFW Post 2743, Norwalk. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, grilling for his family, restoring old cars, and showing cars at local car shows.
George is survived by his wife, Judy (Jordan) Rinner; three daughters, Elizabeth Dillon of Norwalk, Jennifer (David) Scott of Wakeman and Catherine Kasper of Medina; seven grandchildren, Brianna (Trevor) Gerlach, Derek Castillo, Maleigh Dillon, Marissa Scott, David Scott, Caitlyn Kasper, and Kristyn Kasper; sister, Mary Agnes Conley; brothers, Bernard and Thomas Rinner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched.
Including his parents, George is preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn White.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1 S. Main St., Milan, Ohio 44846 to celebrate George's life. A prayer service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 beginning at 10:00 am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk with Rev. Anthony Recker presiding. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
