James A. Koelsch, 63, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Firelands Regional Medical Center.
James was born in Sandusky, OH to the late Donald and Florence (Nemitz) Koelsch. James was a 1968 graduate of St. Mary's High School. He was a Veteran of the Army who proudly served his country from 1970 to 1972. He retired from Ford Motor Company after many years of service, and was recently employed at the Sandusky Register. James was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Cleveland sports teams, playing the lottery, being around children, and spending time with his family.
James is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cathie (Rosswurm) Koelsch; three daughters, Cristie (Adam) Stadler of AL, Jessica Koelsch and Beckie Koelsch of Sandusky; two grandchildren, Riley and Madison Stadler of AL; three brothers, Ronald (Mary Ann) Koelsch of Castalia, Kenneth (Shelly) Koelsch of Milan and Larry (Tamera) Koelsch of Sandusky; four sisters, Ann (Paul) Leimeister of Huron, Donna (Richard) Canino of Sandusky, Jean Rosswurm of Monroeville and Judy (Chris) Thorpe of Vickery; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave, Sandusky. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave. Sandusky, OH. Fr. Joe Steinbauer will be presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
