Michael Francis Antalek, 63, of Albuquerque, N.M., and formerly of Bellevue, Ohio, departed this world July 18, 2013, at his residence.

Mike, born the first of twelve siblings, on Nov. 16, 1949 in Buffalo, N.Y; he was the son of Robert A. and Mary M. (O'Donnell) Antalek (deceased).
Our Mike was fiercely independent and a trusted confidant to his many siblings and friends. He was well-traveled and passionate about technology, art, photography, reading and social commentary. An Air Force veteran, Mike served in Korea and Turkey as a Communications Specialist during the Vietnam War era. Mike also served at a New Orleans U.S. Coast Guard station as a Marine Environment Specialist. Following his years of public service, he was employed and retired as a Digital Multiplexing Switch technician at Pacific Bell and AT&T. Mike was a man with a quiet, unassuming nature, dry wit and a compassionate heart. He will be dearly missed in our family.

Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Mary (O'Donnell) Antalek, and, two brothers, Steven and Patrick Antalek.

Michael is survived by his father, Robert Antalek of Bellevue, Ohio, nine brothers and sisters; Mary Antalek of Buffalo, N.Y., Robert (Minda) Antalek of San Bruno, Calif., David Antalek of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Theresa Thomas of Port Huron, Mich.,Thomas Antalek of Bay Point, Calif., Kathleen (John) Piscitello of Seville, Ohio, Lorraine(Steve) Smith of Norwalk, Ohio, Colleen Porter of Jacksonville, Florida and John Antalek (Gilson Da Silva) of New York City, N.Y.; 17 nieces and nephews (spouses), 12 great nieces and nephews, loving aunts, uncles, cousins; and, dear friends who meant so much to him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 23, 2013, 12:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue, OH. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
