David W. Graves

David W. Graves, 73, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 24, 2013 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

David was born on July 14, 1940 in Sandusky to the late Fulton and Clara (Bryant) Graves.

David was a 1959 Sandusky High School graduate. He was a Veteran of the Air Force who proudly served his country from 1960 to 1964. He retired from Columbia Gas after 30 years of service as a meter reader, and he worked as a custodian for CAC, the Community Action Program of Huron and Erie Counties. David was a member of Emmanuel Temple Church in Sandusky for twenty-two years, where he also dedicated his service on the usher board, Brotherhood Department, and was an avid prayer warrior. David was known as a classy shopper, and enjoyed walking and watching classic movies, especially westerns. He was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his family.

David is survived by three sisters, Margery Graves Anderson, Lois Graves Belle and Janet McDaniel; two brothers, Richard and Larry Graves; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his two sisters, Barbara Graves and Joyce Graves Hill, and two brothers, Fulton and Donald Graves.

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 11:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm noon at Emmanuel Temple Church, 128 E. Adams St., Sandusky with Bishop Rufus Sanders presiding. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
