Jean A. Rogers

Jean A. Rogers, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in Gaymont Nursing Center.

She was born April 11, 1922 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Stanley V. and Lela B. (Bowser) Brooks and was a lifelong area resident.

Jean was a 1940 graduate of North Fairfield High School and the Oberlin School of Commerce in 1942. She was a member of the National Society of the American Revolution, Sally DeForest Chapter, Queen Esther Chapter #15 Order of Eastern Stars, the North Fairfield Historical Society, and the Chit Chat Club. She was a former legal secretary for several area attorney's and was also a former employee of Norwalk Travel Service. Jean enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, crafts, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William Rogers of Norwalk, Ohio, by her daughters, Roberta Baxter Reeves, and husband James Seagle, Rebecca Jean Baxter Carpenter, and husband Charles, all of Norwalk, Ohio, and Elizabeth Ann Baxter Schoenegge of Powell, Ohio, by two step daughters, Joni Blystone, and husband John, of North Fairfield, Ohio, and Linda Nickoli, and husband Kevin, of Norwalk, Ohio, by three granddaughters, Tracey Reeves Ott, Lynn Ann Schoenegge Feldman, and Jennifer Blystone, and 4 great grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by two sisters, Marian Brooks Grove and Harriette Brooks Graham, by two nieces, and a nephew.

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio.
