Phyllis Ann (Herrick) Fries, 81, of Bellevue passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at The Willows at Bellevue, following a brief illness.

She was born on November 16, 1931 in Monroeville, Ohio the daughter of Henry and Amanda (Shriner) Herrick.

Phyllis was a lifelong resident of the Monroeville/Bellevue area. She married Cletus Fries on June 18, 1946 and of that union raised seven children on the family farm in Monroeville. She worked in the MDC Department at Fisher-Titus Hospital for 18 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, the Altar Rosary Society, a former member of St. Sebastian's Church and the St. Ann's study club. She volunteered for many church and community functions and was a 4-H advisor for the former Sherman Township 4-H. She also served as housekeeper at St. Sebastian's Church Rectory.

Phyllis is survived by three daughters, Bonnie (Michael) Tyler of Monroeville, Suzann Alt of Mathews, NC, and Jean (Peter) Schafer of Bellevue; a son, Joel Fries and friend Michelle Turner of Norwalk. A Daughter in law, Jean (Schemmer) Fries and son in law, Michael Bixby, both of Monroeville; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus W. Fries in 1985, two sons, Dennis Fries in 1969, Aaron Fries in 1996, one daughter, Cleo (Fries) Bixby in 2002, grandson, Joel Fries II in 1989, sisters, Pauline Popyk and Jean Herrick, brother and sister in law, Charles and Dorothy Fries, brother in law, Leonard Fries, and sister in law, Irene Fries.

Friends will be received on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 10 a.m. until a funeral mass begins at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 East Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Bismark.
