Florence Wreath (Post) Felter

Florence Wreath (Post) Felter, born December, 24, 1923 passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Norwalk Memorial Home after a long illness.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Eugene (UE). The couple married on July 5, 1949 and spent their 64 years together living in Norwalk.

Florence grew up in Norwalk, and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1943. She was employed by K&H Drug Store in Norwalk, until the birth of their son Joe, in 1952. She then became a full time mother and took a position with Fanny Farmer Candy Company when Joe began school. During her long career with Fanny Farmer, she was promoted to packing and wrapping Supervisor and worked in that capacity until she retired in 1984.

Florence was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church for most of her adult life. She enjoyed traveling and crocheting. She received a Volunteer Service achievement award from Fisher Titus Medical Center in 2010 for extending over 6000 hours of her time in the crocheting of lap blankets for patients and her work in the gift shop. Loved by all who knew her best, Florence will be missed for her warm and gentle ways and her Hollywood smile that could melt just about anybody.

In addition to Eugene, she is survived by their son Joseph Felter, daughter in law Debra, and granddaughter, Alysha of Flint, Texas. She is also survived by her son Phillip Curran, daughter in law Cheryl and three grandchildren, Phillip, Jenivere, and Steven. She is also survived by her nephew Roy Metcalf and his wife Barbara and their three children, Arthur, Andrew and Amanda, her niece Pat Sprunk and Don her husband of Norwalk, and niece Shelly Martin, of Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jennie Post, infant son Michael, two half-sisters and three half-brothers.

The family wishes to extend our gratitude to all the folks at Norwalk Memorial Home and Stein Hospice for the wonderful care that has been given to Florence during the past two years. We appreciate all you have done to make her life as comfortable as possible.

There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 38 West League St., Norwalk, Ohio. Father Anthony Recker will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870. Online condolences may be made by going to www.edwalkerfuneralhome.com.
