Edith Lyons

Edith Lyons, 80, of Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at her residence.

She was born May 30, 1933 in Inez, Kentucky to the late Charley and Nancy (Bowen) James. She was the fifth of ten children.

Edith was employed at Tenneco in Milan for over 20 years, as a press operator. She was a member of the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, Sandusky. She loved family gatherings, taking pictures of her loved ones, knitting, cooking and baking.

Edith is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Kevin) Dragon, Sandusky; two sons, Gary (Kathy) Lyons, Sandusky and Terry (Vicky) Lyons, Columbus; grandchildren, Michael, LeNora, Jessica, Mandy and Ryan; six great grandchildren, Korey, Kodey, Kalup, Kristopher, Olivia and Sophia; two brothers, Norman and Wally James; sisters, Naomi Beaver and Betty Felver; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death in 2008, by her loving husband Mitchel Lyons whom she married December 23, 1950; sisters, Marie, Lydia, Ina, and Emma; brother, Melvin and nephew David.

Friends may call on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, 1617 Milan Rd. Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Pastor David Flack will officiate. Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery, Groton Township.
