Constance Mabel Elaine (Paugh) Gaydish, 85, of Sandusky, passed away on Tuesday evening, November 12, 2013 in The Meadow at Osborn Park, where she was surrounded by her family and the special staffs of Stein Hospice and The Meadows at Osborn Park.
Mabel was born on May 31, 1928 in Short Run, Maryland to the late Robert and Virgie (Moore) Paugh.
Growing up, Mabel had a best friend named Snookie with whom Mabel and her sister, Buelah, had a ball. They were always pranksters. She moved to Ohio with her sister, Jean, at age 17. That's where she met her loving husband of 65 years, Ken Gaydish. She always enjoyed going home to Maryland for family reunions and spending time with her family. She enjoyed dressing up, going dancing, cooking and baking, and taking care of her 5 children, whom she loved very much. Mabel had a sense of humor to the end, and told everyone that came to visit her in the nursing home, "I don't work here, I'm just helping out.
Mabel is survived by her husband, Ken; sons, Kenny (Mary), Jr. and Frank (Susie); daughter, Kathy (Ramon); grandchildren, Amy, Ty, Justin, Labon, Johnny, Jonna, Teresa, Daniel, Leanne, Tjomas, Sara, Chris, Andy, Jenni, Eli, and Tiffany; forty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
At Mabel's request, there will be no viewing. Private services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mabel's name to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
