Marjorie J. Morner

Marjorie J. Morner, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Marjorie was born on May 18, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Russell C. and Hazel D. (Biddle) Leonard.

Marjorie graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor's Degree in Secretarial Studies. She was employed as a secretary for a number of years, but spent most of her life raising her family as a homemaker. Marjorie was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Red Hat Society and the Grandmother's Club. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, going to the theater and to concerts, cooking and baking, watching movies, especially the action scenes, and most of all spending time with her family. Marjorie was very fond of music and loved to sing in church.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dwight Morner of Sandusky; daughter, Jane Morner of Sandusky; son, Tom (Margo) Morner of Eagle, WI; two grandchildren, Cazimir and Celia Morner; two step-grandchildren, Amoureena Klawitter and Finis Morner; two step-great-grandchildren, Eve and Jakob Klawitter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie is preceded in death by her brother, Russell E. Leonard.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky, Ohio. Friends may also call on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 214 E. Jefferson St, Sandusky, Ohio with Rev. Douglas Winner presiding. An additional visitation will take place on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432 with burial following in Mount Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek, Ohio.
