Portia Ann Heath Daniel

Portia Ann Heath Daniel, 66, of Norwalk, Ohio, had a glorious, heavenly homecoming on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at her Norwalk family residence with family and friends by her side.

She was born on March, 22, 1947, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, to Claude and Evelyn Heath.

She grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. She was married to John Kenneth Daniel, Sr., for 36 years and lived in various states in support of her husband's Naval military career.
Portia's life revolved around her faith and her family. She was a dedicated homemaker, raising three children, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Portia enjoyed the simple things in life: a good cup of coffee, watching QVC and the 700 Club on television, art by Thomas Kincade, music by Prince, Elvis, and Faron Young, and long conversations about the Bible.

She is survived by a daughter, Brigit Patrice Daniel of Florida; a son, John Kenneth "Keith" (Holly) Daniel, Jr. of North Carolina; a son, Faron Loreaux Daniel of Norwalk, Ohio; sisters Frankie (Jim) Perry of Valrico, Florida and Diane Lewallen of Homer, Georgia; brothers Mike (Faye) Gibson of Easley, South Carolina and Wayne Heath of Danielsville, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Tracey Daniel of Huron, Ohio; special friends, Stan and Leslie Griffin, of Norwalk, Ohio; grandchildren: Zachary (Cait) Daniel, John Daniel, III, Jordan Robinson, Thomas Daniel, Kendall (Michael) Gordon, Kaitlin Daniel, Jason Griffin, Jericho Daniel, Marlee Griffin, Justin Daniel and Sydney Griffin; and great-grand children, Aiden Griffin, Harlen Robinson, Skylar Gordon, Aubree Gordon and Joshua Matthew Daniel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Kenneth Daniel, Sr.; sister, Claudette Nelson; step-mother, Louise Heath; grandparents, Dee and Violet Gibson, Leonard and Annie Murrell and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Heath.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Friday, December 6 at Walker Funeral Home of Norwalk. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 7 at the family residence at 45 North Pleasant Street, Norwalk, with Rev. Dan officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Folkston, Georgia.

Memorials may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, the Edison High School band program or the Norwalk VFW.
