Julian G. Chill, 82, residing in Monroeville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 18, 2013 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness.
Julian was born on May 21, 1931 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Julius and Mary Chill.
He was owner and operator of Chill's Body Shop in Monroeville for many years, and also a farmer. He was a heavy equipment operator with the operator of engineers Local #18. Julian was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, antique tractors; working on and restoring them and spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Digger.
Julian is survived by his sons, Kenneth and Julie Chill of Monroeville, George and Valerie Chill of Norwalk; daughters, Gayle and Tom Ward of N. Richland Hills, Texas, Peggy and Christian Moll of Gibsonburg, and Bonny Layne of Shelby; sister, Noreen Wittmer of Sandusky; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Julian is preceded in death by his wife, Janice M. Chill, in 2007; sons, Gary Chill, in 1981 and Stephen Chill in 2004; brother, August Chill and sister, Clara Ruthsatz.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, Sandusky with Deacon Jeffrey Claar presiding. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
