Robert W. Zinn

Robert W. Zinn, 64, of Monroeville, Ohio, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the Wade Park Veterans Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 13, 1949 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and lived in this area most of his adult life.

Bob was a graduate of Monroeville High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, Norwalk, Ohio. He retired from Norwalk Furniture in 2008 with 36 years of service. Bob had also worked for Heyman Haymakers and Ray Brown Painters. Bob enjoyed fishing, and was a volunteer for 35 years for the kids and community of Lefty Grove Baseball as the equipment and field manager. Bob's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Scott Ford of Norwalk, Ohio for his friendship and encouragement.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debra A. (Austin) Zinn of Monroeville, Ohio, by his sons and daughter in law, Paul H. Zinn of Norwalk, Ohio, Michael P. Zinn of Norwalk, Ohio and Christopher J. and Maile Zinn of Monroeville, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Callie Zinn, Haleigh Collins, Colten Hall, Lexi Hall, Walker Zinn, Wyatt Zinn, David Zinn, and Michaela Zinn. He is also survived by his siblings, Diana and Jerry Kinkead of New Ross, Indiana, Kathy and George Ely of Sante, California, Jeff and Christine Zinn of Georgia, Jenny Zinn of Indiana, Jaretta Zinn of West Virginia, Sonja Eschelman, and Mary and J.C. Sowl of Beach Grove, Indiana, by his mother and father in law, Fred and Phyllis Wilcox of Norwalk, Ohio, and by close friends, Glenn and Dolores Smith of Norwalk, Ohio, David and Linda Smith of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Denny and Karen Smith of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Allan and Molly Tittle of Cleveland, Ohio.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George and Doris Zinn, Robert Nance and Betty Nance Zachary, and by his father in law, John "Jack" Austin.

Friends may call on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio.
