Charles Mushett

Charles Mushett, 85, passed away peacefully January 18, 2014.

He was born on October 14, 1928 in Norwalk, Ohio. He was a 1946 graduate of St. Paul High School.

He attended BGSU. He served in the US Army. He worked for the railroad for more than 45 years and retired in 1994. He also worked for Baltes Construction, Hug Concrete and was a bartender at the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joanne [Lobinger] Mushett in 2010. His parents Frank and Lillian [Bauman] Mushett, his brother James Mushett and son-in-law Tom Nickols.

He is survived by his sons Michael [Becky], Christopher [Lois] and Daniel; His daughters Michele [Jeff] Elrod, Maureen Mushett, Jeannette Nickols, Danielle [David] Hartman, Jody [Joe] Centers and Amy [Tom] Sweet; his granchildren Benjamin [Kari] Petersen, Andrew [Lisa] Mushett, Brett [Alana] Mushett and Alison Mushett, Nathan [Sheri] Elrod, Nicholas, Christopher and Zachary Elrod, Charles and Dana Hartman, Anthony, Travis and Lindsay Mushett, Jordan, Megan and Ryan Centers; Sierra Mushett, Colton, Hunter and Jude Sweet; and his great granchildren Reagan and Ryann Mushett, Londyn Mushett, Waylon Elrod and Thoren Petersen.

He was a member of the St. Paul's Boosters, Knights of Columbus and the Shamrock Minutemen. He was an avid fan of the St. Paul Flyers and his grandchildren's sporting events. He was very proud of their accomplishments. He also enjoyed Notre Dame sports and the Cleveland Browns, Cavs and Indians.

He loved fishing, hunting, trapping and being outdoors.
He will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky guy who loved to tell stories, was a friend to everyone and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Friends may call at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church (Social Hall), 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. The Rev. Nathan Bockrath, associate pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Norwalk.
