Ali Finley Westgate

Ali Finley Westgate, 71, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly after complications from surgery early Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014 in Firelands Regional Medical Center.

She was born on August 21, 1942 in Manchester, Kentucky to the late Newton Finley and Mary (Sibert) Finley Smith.

Ali graduated from Sandusky High School in 1962. She was a union carpenter, and she worked at Portland House and Reedtown Tavern. Ali loved gardening, family boating, animals - especially birds, and cooking for her family. Being with family was most important.

Ali is survived by her sons, Trent and Joshua Kane Miller, both of Sandusky; grandson, Tyler Ethan Hoffman; siblings, Forester (Lola) Finley, Rose Lawton, Melvin (Linda) Finley, Joyce (Thomas "Pete") Byington, Jan (Larry) Mingus, Wendell Finley, and Harriet Finley; first husband, Dewey Gene Miller; many nieces and nephews; many other family members and friends; dog, Teddy; and cat, Mush-Mush.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tillmon Miller; second husband, James Westgate; step-father, Thomas Smith; nephews, Travis Byington, Jacob Lawton, and Van Lawton; and dog, Rusty.

Friends may call on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 Noon at Faith Memorial Assembly of God, 1320 E. Strub Rd., Sandusky. Pastor Ken Hiser will officiate. At Ali's request, cremation will follow. All in attendance are welcome to join the family for a luncheon immediately following the funeral service.
