Helen L. Kraft, Norwalk, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 16, 2014 at Norwalk Memorial Home with her family at her side.

She was born August 6, 1927 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Forest and Ona (Bomer) Alexander.

Helen graduated from Howland High School, Warren, Ohio, in 1945, and was a member of the West Hartland United Methodist Church. She worked for years as a waitress at the old Oasis Restaurant in Wakeman, Ohio. Helen was the former cook at Fisher Titus Medical Center, and had worked in the kitchen at Norwalk Memorial Home. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Helen crocheted for 76 years, winning many ribbons at the Huron County Fair. She also won "The Best of Show" at the Huron County Fair for the best cherry pie. Helen was a country music fan, and especially loved George Strait. She collected ceramic elephants, or anything with an elephant on it. Helen was also a sharp shooter when it came to ground hogs. She learned how to shoot her 22 and loved it.

Helen is survived by her son, Edward (Deb) Kraft of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by her daughters, Marica (Al) Hurst of Norwalk, Ohio, Donna (Ron) Linder, of Norwalk, Ohio, and Suzie (Dave) Hamons of Collins, OhIo, 18 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Jack Alexander of Kentucky, Marvin Alexander of Sylvania, Ohio, and Melvin Alexander of Michigan, and by her sisters, Ema Rollins of Bay Village, Ohio, Shirley Griffith of Sylvania, Ohio, and Barbara Uliczny of Arizona.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kraft, by her sons, Ronald and Forest (Jr.) Kraft, and by her brother, Chet Alexander.

Friends may call on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the West Hartland United Methodist Church, 1401 Zenobia Road, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Everett Stoddard will officiate. Interment will be in Milan Cemetery.
