Dennis E. Stoltz

Dennis E. Stoltz, 72, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born March 11, 1942 in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Louis and Pearl (Constance) Stoltz and was a lifelong Norwalk resident.

Dennis attended Norwalk High School. He was an usher at the Shine Theatre in Norwalk after high school, and was also a pin setter, at Kenilee lanes, as a kid. Dennis enlisted in the United States Army in 1959, and was stationed in France when Germany built the Berlin Wall. He was a conductor for 27 years with the Norfolk & Western, Wheeling, and Norfolk and Southern Railroads. Dennis was a member of Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion for 42 years, Eagles Aerie #711 for 30 years, and was an Associate Member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved playing golf, playing cards, going on Casino trips, and he and his wife enjoyed 14 cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Northern Europe, and England, as well as traveling all over the United States.

Dennis is survived by his wife, and best friend, of 20 years, Sheila (Conway) Stoltz of Norwalk, Ohio, by his brothers, Louis (Betty) Stoltz of Huron, Ohio, Earl (Joyce) Stoltz of Conway, South Carolina, and David Stoltz of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, by his step son, Jeff Crisp, by 2 granddaughters, Aurora and Trinity Crisp, all of Norwalk, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father in law, Olwen and Andrew Conway, by his sister in law, Linda Stoltz and by his nephew, Ryan Stoltz.

Friends may call on Saturday, April 27, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
