Clifton Myers

Clifton Myers, 85, of Sandusky, died on Saturday morning, April 26, 2014 in the Ohio Veterans Home.

He was born on June 26, 1928 in Chicago, IL, and grew up in Laurel, MS.

Cliff served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

His work sent him to various parts of the country, demolishing power plants. After retiring from Envrex Construction of New York he moved to Sandusky, where he married Joan Vance on June 28, 1997.

Cliff was a 50 year member of Local 480, loved to travel, and living in Sandusky afforded him the opportunity to fish, which he would do on a daily basis. As soon as the weather would break, he would put his boat in the water and go fishing with his buddies, Duke, Jim, Frank, and Preacher.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joan Taylor-Myers; daughters, Ella Mae Parks, of Lawrence, KS, Mae (Albert) Jones, of Vacaville, CA; son, Leotha (Mary) Hudson, of Wichita, KS; step-daughters, Peggy (Keevyn) Shelton, Toni Baker and Renee Baker; brothers, Jerry Evans, Bobbie Evans, and Harrison Evans; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cora Myers; step-father; sisters, Caroline and Catherine; and brothers, Simon and James.

Friends may call on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The American Legion Post 83 Honor Guard will provide military honors. At Cliff's request, cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cliff's name to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, or to one's favorite charity. Condolences and gifts of sympathy may be made to the family by visiting www.toftfh.com.
