Harley Chumley, 84, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2014 at the Ohio Veteran's Home, Sandusky.

He was born December 6, 1929 in Claiborne County, TN, the son of Van Weans and Dellar (Bussell) Chumley.

Harley served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He was a charter member of Providence Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He worked and retired from the Ford Motor Co. in 1981, after which he spent his time fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Martha (Billingsley), whom he married on February 3, 1952 in Claiborne County, TN. One son, David (Bernida) Chumley; grandchildren, Janisha (Todd) Buck, Jessica (DJ) Eidson, Jake Reau, Zach Reau, Lucas Chumley and Kade Chumley; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Haynes and Clyde Chumley; and a sister, Hassie Lay.

In addition to his parents, Harley is preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Brian Chumley; brothers: Lewis, Otis, Woodrow, Estel, Henley, Fred, John, and George Chumley; sisters, Minnie Powell and Agnes Gordon.

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service officiated by Pastor John McIntyre will held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 1000 W. Gardner Road, Bellevue.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Harley's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio, 2500 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, OH 43615; Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, 44870; or the donor's favorite charity.
