Robert A. "Roy" Rogers, 51, of Wakeman, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, June 22, 2014.
Roy was born May 7, 1963 in Elyria, Ohio to Kenneth W. and Hattie B. (Eagle) Rogers, Sr.
He is survived by his daughter, Crystal (Josh) Swartz of Indianapolis, Indiana, by his granddaughter, Alyssa Swartz, by his mother, Hattie "Bert" (Rogers) Perry of Norwalk, Ohio, by his sister, Lois (Rogers) Ortner of Norwalk, Ohio, by his brother, Kenneth "Pete" (Tammy) Rogers, Jr. of Wakeman, Ohio, by Cindy "Momma" Thomas of Wakeman, Ohio, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Roy loved riding his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed restoring his 1968 International, and taking it to car shows. Spending time with family and friends was also very important to him. He was a member of F.O.E. 711 of Norwalk, Ohio. Roy was employed by Dauch Concrete of Norwalk, Ohio, and was a former employee of Oglesby Construction Company of Norwalk, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth W. Rogers, Sr., by his nephews, David A. Kreger II, Roger L. Garton, Jr., and Kenneth W. Rogers III, by his niece, Tasha H. Ortner, by his son in law, John A. Horton, and by sister, Betty J. (Rogers) Braden.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. at The Chapel South Campus, Norwalk, Ohio. Pastor Todd Nielsen will officiate.
