Mary J. Cooksey, 68, of Sandusky died early Tuesday morning, July 15, 2014 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.
She was born December 21, 1945 in Brazil, Indiana and had lived in Sandusky for the last twelve years.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth (Debbie) Cooksey of Castalia; one daughter, Kimberly Cooksey of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Noah, Jordan and Conner; six sisters, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bertha (Berry) Newport; two brothers and one sister.
At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be held in Brazil, Indiana at a later date.
Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky is assisting the family with the arrangements.
