Mary (Uhas) Westcott

Mary (Uhas) Westcott, 91, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday evening, September 8, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Mary was born on November 6, 1922 in Erie, PA to the late Samuel and Anna (Boldisar) Uhas.

Mary was a 1934 graduate from Margaretta High School. She worked as a secretary in Margaretta schools for 5 years, before retiring as a sales clerk from JcPenny's after 20 years of service. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Mothers Knowledge Club, the Altar Rosary Society and the bereavement committee. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, canning, gardening, cooking, garage sales and spending winters in Florida.

Mary is survived by her children, Paul "Jack" J. (Patricia) Westcott of Tipp City, OH, Marcia Ann (Larry) Parsons of Sandusky, Valerie Kalo of Maumee, OH, and Steven D. (Dianne) Westcott of Castalia; grandchildren, Kyle Westcott, Kristofer Parsons, Daniel Kalo, Natalie Kalo-Longmore, Stefanie Kingsborough, Steven (Aryn) Westcott and Brian (Heather) Westcott; great-grandchildren, Alexis Murray, Ashlyn and Kallon Kingsborough, Callie, Daniel and Luke Kalo, and Lane Westcott; sisters, Anne Ollar of Sandusky and Vera Wagner of St. Petersburg, FL; special friend, Cecil Deal and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Westcott in 2002; brothers, John, Steve and Mike Uhas; and son-in-law, Dan Kalo.

Friends may call on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky with Father Joe Steinbauer presiding. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia, OH.
