Gerald E. Bowers, 79, of Whites Landing, died Friday evening, October 10, 2014, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Castalia on April 8, 1935 to the late Leonard and Viola (Pooch) Bowers.
Jerry was the owner and operator of Bowers Sanitation for many years.
He was a member of the Clyde Masonic Lodge F. & A.M., loved golfing and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Evans) Bowers; children, Kathy (Don) Parker, Sandusky, Don (Cindy) Bowers, White Landing, Kay Ann Braden, Sandusky, and Brian (Angel) Bowers, White Landing; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Turner, Monroeville, Patty Wilber, Sandusky, Karen Tenney, Fredericktown, OH, and Mary K. Hoffman, Castalia; brothers, Leonard Bowers, Bellevue, and Michael Bowers, Mount Vernon, OH; special friend, Lloyd Willis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Terry Braden; and special friends, Wilma Willis and Billy Canfield.
A Celebration of his Life will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, from 5-7 P.M. in the Whites Landing Town Hall, 3063 County Rd. 290, Whites Landing.
