William A. Minor, 69, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at his son's home.

He was born October 30, 1944 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Golden M. and Monica A. (Bauer) Minor and was a lifelong area resident.

Bill was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a 1962 graduate of St. Paul High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, Eagles Aerie #711, and Amvets Post #1992 of Eustis, Florida. Bill was an Engineer for the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad retiring in 2001. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, golfing, and was always the first to offer a hand to someone in need.

Bill is survived by his wife of 49 years, Molly J. (Mahlke) Minor whom he married September 25, 1965. He is also survived by his children, Gerald W. Minor of Bellevue, Washington, William A. Minor of Milton, Florida, Stephen O. and Lenora Minor of Norwalk, Ohio, and Carrie K. and David Mason of Bellevue, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Nicole, Keith, Monica, Calvin, Sophia, and Holden, by his great grandson, Jackson, and by his sister, Constance and Larry Hurst of Norwalk, Ohio.

Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Kidd. Bill was able to enjoy a gathering and celebration of his life with family and friends in early June of this year.

At his request, there will be no calling hours or service. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
