Betty M. Abbey

Betty M. Abbey, 86, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, December 26, 2014 in Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk, Ohio.

She was born May 5, 1928 in Rocky River, Ohio to the late Holger and Thomasine M. (Jenner) Jepsen and lived in this area most of her life.

Betty was a member of the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church of Milan, Ohio and was a 30 year member of Eagles Aerie #711 Auxiliary. She was a former employee of the Philco Co., and was a guide at the Milan Museum for many years. Betty and her late husband, Don, retired to Bradenton, Florida where she lived from 1990 to 2011. Betty was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, and was also a former Girl Scout Leader. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters and son in law, Karen Simon of Norwalk, Ohio, and Susan and Glenn Lacy of Greenwich, Ohio. Betty is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer and Eric Meyer, Eric Horn, Kelly and Gary Eddy, Tracy and Junaid Abbasi, Michelle June, and Michael and Bridgett Lacy, 7 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, and by her sister and brother in law in law, Joanne and Henning Jacobsen of Denmark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Abbey in 2010. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Dale Thomas, Pastor of the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
