Pearl L. (Boden) Sabo

Pearl L. (Boden) Sabo, age 91, of Castalia, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday night, January 21, 2015, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.

She was surrounded by her "Magnificent Seven" children as she called them, along with other family and friends, who sent her off on wings of love and thankfulness for the beautiful and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother she was and still is to them. She is singing and dancing with Jesus in a field of colorful wildflowers she once had a dream about that she thought was a glimpse of Heaven that God gave her.

She was born September 3, 1923, in Sandusky, and graduated from Sandusky High School in the early class of 1942.

She was a member of the Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, and loved to play pinochle and scrabble; her nickname was "The Ace of Hearts". Pearl was a "Rosie the Riveter" at the Philco Company, making radios during WWII. She later worked for Kuhn's Market, and ran K & S Dairy Bar for many years.

She is survived by four daughters Terry (Roland) Alvers, Fran (Rolland) Hartenfeld, Maree (Mike) Markley, and Lori (James) Dauch; three sons Frank (Kim) Sabo Jr, Michael (Amy) Sabo, and Darren (Cheryl) Sabo; 15 grandchildren Julie, Tracy, Stephanie, Michelle, Lisa, Kyle, Lauren, Deanne, Danyelle, J.C., Kayla, Cole, Katie, Kristen, and Karolyn; 12 great grandchildren Zach, Brendan, Tia, Jenna, Sarah, Josh, Sydney, Aiden, Jonathan, Jeremy, Ella, Kinze . ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband Frank Sabo Sr.; parents John and Martha (Kindt) Boden; five sisters Florence, Mae, Edith, Bernice, and Shirley; brother Frank; and two great grandsons Caleb and Gabriel Maus.

Friends may call Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 1-4 PM at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015, at 10:30 AM. Pastor David Flack will officiate, and burial will follow at Castalia Cemetery.
