Hester M. (Gray) Drennen

Hester M. (Gray) Drennen, 86, residing in Huron, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 2015 in The Meadows of Osborn Park.

Hester was born April 12, 1928 in Zela, West Virginia to the late Thomas and Pina (McClung) Gray.

Hester was employed as a cook at Richard's Restaurant, the Stone House and the most recently at the Erie County Juvenile Justice Center. She was a former member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. In her spare time, other than being an avid baseball fan, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, working on word searches and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Hester is survived by her two sons, Lee E. Drennen and Tony Drennen both of Sandusky; grandchildren, Amber (Ted), Dillon (Allison), Brett (Alexis) and Corey (Chyanne); eight great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Hester was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Drennen; siblings, Imogene Donaldson, Garnet Cook, Virginia Cavendish, Joseph Gray, Egbert Gray, Hazel Vickers, Mary Grose and John Gray.

Friends may call on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky with Pastor Wally Gilbert presiding. Entombment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
