Rita R. (Maguire) Brotzki, 83, residing in Sandusky, passed away surrounded by her loving family Monday afternoon, February 23, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
Rita was born on December 27, 1931 in New York, NY to the late Bernard and Rita (Sullivan) Maguire.
Rita was a 1949 graduate from St. Mary's High School and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers fan. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, going to lunch with her girlfriends and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ralph C. Brotzki, whom she married on September 11, 1954. She is also survived by her daughters, Regina Brotzki and Kathleen Brotzki both of Sandusky; son, Bernard (Jennifer) Brotzki of Michigan; grandchildren; Matthew, Megan, Marcus and Abigail; great-grandchildren, Landon, Lilly, Spencer, Sophia and Aubrey; daughter in law, Paula Brotzki of Monroeville; brother; John (Susan) Maguire; step-sisters, Sister Mary Alvita and Anne Fulling; step-brother, Bernard (Helen) Maguire and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her sons, Ralph Joseph, David and Frank Brotzki; step-father, Terrence Maguire and eight step brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. A prayer service will be held Friday, February 27, 2015 at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky, OH.
