Carl Devon Densmore, SMSGT., USAF, Ret.,

Carl Devon Densmore, Senior Master Sergeant, USAF, Ret., 86, of Clyde, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday morning, March 30, 2015.

He was born on March 26, 1929 in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late James "Lloyd" and Chloras (Barrett) Densmore.

He was a 1947 graduate of East Liverpool High School, and earned college credit at both the University of Maryland, and in California, where he got accreditation and training in topography.

Carl retired from the United States Air Force, after serving 30 years, where he was involved in the Pacific Theater of WWII and the Korean Conflict. A senior Master Sergeant, Carl served his last duty in Sandusky as a recruiting officer. He then worked many jobs after retiring from the USAF.

He loved to travel. He also loved bird watching, reading, collecting antiques, and woodworking. A man of many talents, and self-taught at most of what he did, Carl was an excellent cabinet maker. He even helped to build his families' homes. Carl's sense of humor was unique, and appreciated by his family, especially his grandchildren.

Carl is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Orpha (Pritchard) Densmore; son, Bob (Viola) Densmore; daughters, Carla Densmore-Price, Kim (John) Likes, and Lisa (Kevin) Wightman; grandchildren, Misty, Angela, Jeremiah, Nicole, Elizabeth, Jason, Devon, and Megan; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jo Gates and Linda (Kenny) Crawford; sister-in-law, Viola "Bo" Densmore; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, June Tolland; and brother, Reid Densmore.

Friends may call at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky, on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 6 P.M. until time of military honors, provided by the USAF, at 7 P.M. A memorial service to celebrate Carl's life will immediately follow, with Rev. Phil Gardner officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
