Kenneth Ferrail Parker

Kenneth Ferrail Parker, 45, Columbus, OH, transitioned from this life to his eternal rest, unexpectedly, Friday, April 3, 2015, in his residence.

He was born in Sandusky, OH on November 1, 1969 to Kenneth and Barbara (Russell) Parker. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and his soul was sealed.

Ferrail, as he was affectionately called, resided in Marion, OH, before moving to Columbus.

He attended the Ohio State School for the Blind, Columbus, and graduated with honors on June 9, 1988, and took the Columbus Ohio State School for the Blind to a state wrestling championship, setting records not only in wrestling, but swimming as well, in which the records still stand today. Ferrail also attended Columbus State College.

He obtained his state vendors license in 1988, and operated his own business for two years. Ferrail also was employed at 340 Vend B-1 in the Rose Tower, Columbus, for 10 years and by Vern Riffe Tower, Columbus for five years.

Ferrail was an avid sports fan, and a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, his favorite team. He loved bowling, bowling in a league until he was unable to bowl.

He leaves to cherish his homegoing, daughter, Erica Jade Parker, Newark, OH; son, Koristian Chandler "Korie" Simmons, Columbus, OH; parents, Kenneth and Barbara Parker, Columbus, OH; brother, Attorney Shinerr Parker, Columbus, OH; maternal grandmother, Geneva Russell, Sandusky; nephew, Amir Yoshi Parker, Columbus, OH; six aunts; six uncles; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends; as well as special friends, Jeff Tolle, Columbus, OH, and Robert Anderson, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and L.A. Parker; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Russell; uncles and aunts.

Friends may call on Friday, April 10, 2015, from 6-8 P.M. in Porters Memorial C.M.E. Church, 1722 Third St., Sandusky. Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday at 1 P.M. in the church. Rev. Glenn G. Moorer, Jerusalem Baptist Church, Akron, OH will provide the eulogy. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.

Memorial contributions in Ferrail's name may be to Porters Memorial C.M.E. Church, or to The Ohio State School for the Blind Athletic Department, Columbus, OH.
