Robert N. Mansfield Jr.

Robert N. Mansfield Jr., 71, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, Ohio.

He was born March 1, 1944 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Robert N. and Marjorie R. (Cutcher) Mansfield, Sr., and was a lifelong area resident.

Bob graduated from Milan High School in 1963. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1971. Bob was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and retired in 2007 from St. Paul Catholic Church, and St. Paul schools, maintenance department. After retirement, Bob was a groundskeeper at Eagle Creek golf course. He was a member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, Knight of Columbus Council #626, St. Paul Athletic Boosters Club, and the Ohio High School Athletic Association. Bob was an umpire and referee for many area high school sports teams, and drove the equipment bus for St. Paul High School for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, golf, bowling, and word search puzzles, and computer games.

Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marjorie H. "Marge" (Pheifer) Mansfield of Norwalk, Ohio, by his daughter, Stacy (Michael) Bush of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his grandchildren, Taegen, Ryleigh, and Xavier Bush. He is also survived by his sister Judy (John) Copsey of Norwalk, Ohio, by his sister's in-law, Rita (Francis) Thayer of Milan, and Margaret Baldwin of Norwalk, by his brother in-law, Kenneth (Darlene) Pheifer of Norwalk, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert N. Mansfield III in 2006, by his sisters, Susan Mansfield, and Cheryl Pimpo, by his nephew, James Copsey, and by his mother and father in law, Raymond and Loretta Pheifer.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 23, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Nathan Bockrath will officiate.
