Dorothy M. Chambers Bienz

Dorothy M. Chambers Bienz, 86, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in the Willows of Willard, Ohio.

She was born October 25, 1928, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Francis and Dorothy Eva (Kenney) Chambers.

Following high school in Chicago, she attended nursing school in Aurora, Illinois, followed by a BSN from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. She retired after 30 years from the State of Ohio Dept. of Mental Health. She held administrative and teaching positions in several state facilities.

On June 7, 1980 she married Robert Bienz of Wooster, who preceded her in death in 1996. She is also preceded in death by a niece in 2014.

Dorothy was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church of Norwalk. A member of the Hillsdale School Board until 1997 after serving for 6 years, as well as a representative for the Ashland County West Holmes Career Center. She enjoyed scrapbooking, card making, quilting, and playing bridge. Dorothy also loved her pug dogs over the years.

Surviving are 2 sisters, Madeleine D'Allura of Eugene, OR., and Maureen Prack of Norwalk, Ohio. 10 nieces and nephews, and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews. All of which she has loved being their "Aunt Dorothy".

There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. A luncheon at the church will follow. No graveside service. Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Angling Rd. in Wayne Co. beside her late husband's farm.

Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
