Andrew P. Waldron

Andrew P. Waldron, 80, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Laurels of New London, Ohio.

He was born November 22, 1934 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, to the late Harry and Anna M. (Burkhard) Waldron, and came to this area in 1969 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Andrew was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio. He was a former electronics technician at the Greater Pittsburgh Airport, and had also worked at the Oberlin Air Traffic Control Center, servicing and maintaining radar equipment, from 1969 until his retirement in 1989. Andrew was a member of N.A.R.F.E. (National Association of Retired Federal Employees). He enjoyed hunting, reading, bowling, traveling, fishing, playing in a golf league for many years, walking his dog, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Dixie J. (Higgins) Waldron of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his children, Jeffery P. Waldron of Weatherford, Texas, Kerry K. (Tim) Dyer of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Andrea J. (Edward) Pierce of Elyria, Ohio, and four grandchildren, Andrew Dyer, Stephen (Laura) Dyer, Patrick Pierce, and Lindsay Pierce.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Herb Waldron, by his sisters, Ruth Lemmon, and Doris Ciccone and by his grandchildren, Adam Dyer in 2014, and Christine Pierce in 1993.

Friends may call on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Monsignor Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
