Margaret Faye Linder

Margaret Faye Linder passed over the rainbow on May 11, 2015 at age 97, though she would prefer to say age 29.

She was born in Norwalk, Ohio August 17, 1917, to Ray Rutherford Tucker and Eva Malitta Shaw.

Margaret graduated from Norwalk High School in 1935 and worked as a telephone operator for Ohio S-ell until she married Paul F. Linder, on October 19, 1938. They moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where Paul was manager for the Farm Bureau. By 1939 they returned to Huron County to farm in partnership with Paul's brother,Fritz Linder. Margaret went on to work for Ohio Bell again early in the 1950's eventually becoming a supervisor and retiring in 1979 after 30 years of proud service.

She was a member of the West Hartland United Methodist Church, for 75 years a member of the Halcyon Chapter of the Eastern Stars, as well as a lifetime member of Firelands Historical Society. After retirement she and Paul spent many winters in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Margaret was an extremely nurturing soul, caring for many animals, especially cats. She never forgot family members' or friends' birthdays, or any other special occasions. Any visitor could be assured of having homemade cookies along with a great sense of humor and pleasant company.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Paul, in 1984, and by her son, Harmon in 1999.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy(Abubaker)Ashakih, eight grandchildren :Michelle Linder(Jim Hetrick), Lea Linder(Tom Friend) Anwar Ashakih(Tsehaye Yohannes), Jasmin Ashakih (Erika Block)Moheb Ashakih, Daniel Ashakih(Tina Bellitto), Mounir Ashakih(Tiffany Bastian), Fayrouz Ashakih, and twelve great grandchildren.

Memorial service is to be held at West Hartland United Methodist Church, Friday, May 15, 2015, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to ll:00 a.m.. with funeral service immediately following.

Margaret will be interred alongside her husband and son at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret's name may be made to any of the following of her favorite charities: Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, Ohio, Norwalk Salvation Army, 55 Whittlesey Ave., Norwalk, Ohio, Habitat for Humanity, 7602 Milan Rd., Sandusky, Ohio 44870 and West Hartland United Methodist Church,1401 Zenobia Rd., Norwalk, Ohio.
