Jesse A. Smith

Jesse A. Smith, 94, of Sandusky, Ohio passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in The Ohio Veterans Nursing Home.

He was born April 6, 1921 in Louisville, KY to the late Rosa Smith Boggs and Albert Smith.

Jesse was employed by the former Farrell-Cheek for 31 years before retiring. He was in the Armed Forces serving our county in the Army, during WWII. He served from April 1944-January 1946 as a CF133 in the 1331 Eng. Gen. Serv.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church. Jesse enjoyed spending time with family friends and watching sports.

He was preceded in death by, his parents; Loving wife of 72 years, Annie Smith; sons, Jesse "Mike" Smith and Gerald E. Smith; siblings, William Boggs, Harold Boggs, Alberta Smith Tuggle, Alma Buxton, & Sherman Boggs; Grandson, Gerald Anderson Smith Jr., and nephew, Brian Curley.

Friends may call on Saturday, May 23, 2015, from 10 A.M. until time of Home Going Services at 12 P.M. Noon in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Reginald Taylor will officiate, and Minister Lorna McKinstry will provide the eulogy. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery, where the American Legion Post 83 Color Guard will hold the military tribute.
