Nancy Lee (Waterfield) Bauer

Nancy Lee (Waterfield) Bauer, 78, of Vickery, died Friday morning, June 19, 2015, surrounded by her family at the Meadows of Osborn Park.

She was born December 27, 1936, in Sandusky, and was a 1954 graduate of Sandusky High School.

She was a cook at Rockwell Springs Trout Club, and a medical technician at the former Memorial Hospital. Nancy was the first woman in Erie County to sell automobiles for the former Klaus Olds/Cadillac.

Nancy enjoyed spending time with her companions at the Meadows, and had a gift for making friends with everyone, wherever she went, including her many hangouts. Nancy had a huge passion for all creatures, but especially loved her many "fur-babies" living and passed. She and her late husband Dean would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary June 23rd.

She is survived by her son Michael (Dawn) Bauer of Vickery; her daughter Shannon Bauer (Harry) Lerro of Sandusky; two grandchildren Allison Lerro (Reggie) Bradley and Hannah Lerro; and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Dean Bauer in 1996; her parents Silas A. and Marie (Lassen) Waterfield; two brothers Wayne and Ronald Waterfield; and two sisters Beatrice Nicholson and Shirley Parker.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Ransom Funeral and Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 26, 2015.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior St., Sandusky, OH 44870, or to the Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, 2337 S. Linda Drive, Marblehead, OH 43440.
