Philip B. Martin

Philip B. Martin, 90, of Monroeville died early Saturday morning, April 23, 2011 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky following a battle with multiple myeloma.  He was born in the same home he lived his whole life on October 30, 1920 in Monroeville. His family and farm meant the whole world to him.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Farm Bureau, Farmers Union and was a 12 gallon blood donor.  

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Mabel C. Smith, one son; Gerald W. (Sharon) Martin of Monroeville, one daughter; Lizabeth (Dale) Worcester of Monroeville, 6 grandchildren; Molly (Tim) Porter of Bellevue, Justin (Sara) Martin of Monroeville, Brittany (Greg) Felder of Bellevue, Luke Worcester of Monroeville, Kate (Tom) Brause of Bucyrus and Becky Worcester of Monroeville, 3 great grandchildren; Caleb Martin, Caden Martin and Mallory Brause, nieces, nephews and other relatives.  

He was preceded in death by one son, Tom in 2005, his parents; Joseph and Susanna (Ausburger) Martin and 7 siblings.     

Friends may call Tuesday, April 26, 2011from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville where Christian Wake Services will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. The Reverend William Pifher will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Endowment Fund, 79 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio  44847 or to the Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio  44870.
