Maggie Josephine (Marshall) Golden

Maggie Josephine (Marshall) Golden, 81, of Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 6, 2015 in Providence Care Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 9, 1933 in Cartersville, GA, to the late Coleman Lee and Bertha Lee (Hyatt) Marshall, the third of eight children.

Maggie was a member of the Assembly of Jesus Christ Church, and was affiliated with New Bethel Church. She was a proud volunteer for Firelands Regional Medical Center, where she received an award.

She loved everyone and was loved in return. Maggie had a special love for babies and children. This gave her the well known name of "Aunt Phine". Being the family baby sitter, she helped raise Alonda Gant, Tyra Turner, and Tyrell Jones.

Maggie leaves to cherish her memory, grandson, Daleon Rice, Covington, KY; great-grandson, Daleon Rice, Jr., Covington, KY; sisters, Wilene Brown, Columbus, OH, Mildred (Samuel) Mickles and Everline Cook, both of Sandusky, OH; brothers, Willie "Bud" (Patricia) Marshall and Coleman "Fish" (Anita) Marshall, both of Sandusky, OH; daughter-in-law, Annice Marshall, Sandusky, OH; brothers-in-law, Eddie Brown and Marion Sheppard, both of Sandusky; special niece and longtime caregiver, Tonya Turner; godson, Roger Moore; friends, Virginia Myers, Kelly Reed, and Tonya Hunter; and a host of relatives.

She was preceded in death by her only child, Charles E. Marshall; her husband, Dave Golden; her parents, Coleman and Bertha (Hyatt) Marshall; and sisters, Mattie Mae Brown, Lillie Sheppard, and Lucy Irby.

Friends may call on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12:00 Noon in Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Samuel Mickles will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
