Stephen D. Dunlap, 59, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 14, 2015, in Fisher Titus Medical Center.
He was born July 2, 1956 in Norwalk, Ohio, to Dale H. and Barbara (Powers) Dunlap, was raised in New London, Ohio, resided in Minnesota, returned to Ashland, Ohio in 1996, and to Norwalk several years ago.
Stephen attended New London High School. He was a member or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New London, Ohio. He was also a member of the Ashland Moose, the New London Eagles, and the New London American Legion Post #292. He was a carpenter by trade, and was a member of Carpenters Union Local #87. He was a former employee of KoKosing, and Adolfson and Petersen Construction Company where he had worked at the Mall of America, and Young Construction Company, of New London, Ohio. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, pool, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Stephen D. Dunlap, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his daughter, Dawn Linder, of Norwalk, Ohio, by 5 grandchildren, William, Phillip, Savanna, Sara, and Jadyn. He is also survived by his brothers Tom (Jacki) Dunlap, of Norwalk, Ohio, and Doyle Dunlap, of Gahanna, Ohio, and by his sister Teresa (Dale) Bowen, of Sebastian, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nicki Dunlap in 2009.
There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery. A celebration of Stephen's Life will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at the Norwalk Reservoir.
