Loren E. Weilnau

Loren E. Weilnau, 87, residing in Milan, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Ohio Veteran's Home after a lengthy illness.

Loren was born on July 11, 1928 in Milan, OH to the late August and Edna (Heckelman) Weilnau.

He graduated from Milan High School in 1946 and was employed at Schlessman's Seed Company for 65 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1948 to 1952. Loren was a member of the American Legion in Milan and a life member of the Norwalk VFW. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, reading, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Loren is survived by his loving wife, June E. (Doerner) (Burras) Weilnau; four daughters, Peggy (Bob) Lewis of Wooster, OH, Connie (Bryan) Dickey of Georgia, Pat Burras of Norwalk, OH, and Mary (Tony) Ellison of Sandusky; three sons, Scott (Sandy) Burras, Tom (Kathy) Weilnau, and Mike Burras, all of Norwalk, OH; one brother, Neil Weilnau of Huron, OH; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Loren is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Speer) Weilnau and his son, David Weilnau.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1 S Main St. Milan, OH 44846. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at Milan Presbyterian Church, 17 E Church St, Milan with Pastor Donald Loving presiding. Burial will follow in Milan Cemetery.
