Marjorie A. (Marion) Harper

Marjorie A. (Marion) Harper, 81, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 at her home with family at her side.

She was born August 18, 1933 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late George O. and Florine E. (Harrison) Marion, and was a lifelong Norwalk resident.

Marge was a graduate of Norwalk High School, and attended Bowling Green State University. She was a member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed bible study, the prayer chain, Church 3D, and the book club. Marge was the former director of the Huron County C.A.C., and retired after 33 years as the Director of Huron County Services for the Aging. She developed the Huron County Meals on Wheels program and served on its Board of Directors, and served several terms on the Board of Directors of Fisher-Titus Medical Center. Marge enjoyed classical music, reading the Bible, and novels. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Marge is survived by her daughters, Leslie Harper Campbell, Sherrie Harper (Dennis Winkle), Monica (Steven) Wooten, Melanie Harper, Melissa (James) Spettle, and Melinda Harper, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Spencer, and by her brothers, George Marion and Dennis (Linda) Marion.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie (Duke) Harper, by her sister, Shirley Sutherland, and by her son in law, Clinton Campbell, Jr.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Brian Oglesbee will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
