Dean I. Daniels

Dean I. Daniels, 93, of Sandusky passed away late Wednesday evening, December 2, 2015 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.

He was born October 9, 1922 to Lee and Ethel (Smith) Daniels in Sandusky where he was a lifelong resident.

He was a 1940 graduate of Sandusky High School. Dean was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sandusky, where he served 40 years as the secretary/treasurer of the Church School. He and his late wife also served for 29 years as the church financial secretary. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in the 83rd Infantry Division and fought in the "Battle of the Bulge". Dean and his late wife Irene owned and operated the former Bissell Auto Service in Sandusky for 42 years, retiring in 2010.

He is survived by two sons, Roger D. (Bonnie) Daniels of Port Clinton and David J. (Sue) Daniels of Mentor; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and his best buddy, Timmy (the dachshund).

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Irene J. (Johannsen) Daniels on December 23, 2010; his parents, and one brother, Rev. Boyd Daniels.

Friends may call Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky and also from 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 10 until time of service at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Chaplain Mel Sayler will officiate. Burial will be in the Milan Cemetery.
