Sherrill Henard Myers, 93, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Thursday morning, February 11, 2016 in the Ohio Veterans Home following a lengthy illness.

Sherrill was born on June 18, 1922 in Atkins, Virginia to Robert Taylor Myers and Edna Robinson Myers. Sherrill grew up in Tennessee and attended Holston Valley Schools in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Sherrill proudly served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He married Gladys Powell in Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1945 and later divorced. He had been employed at Tennessee Eastman, in Kingsport, Tennessee before moving to Sandusky. Sherrill married Marian Jones Petrick in Sandusky, Ohio in 1978. He retired from Ford Motor after 25 years of service. He enjoyed his family, gardening, playing pool and watching WWE.

Sherrill is survived by his three sons, Tony (Charlotte) of Sandusky, Mike (Marilyn) of Milan, Tim (Vicky) of Huron; a half-sister, Joanna Rich of Kingsport, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Tony Myers, Jr., Tracy (Paul) Luc, Tapatha Knupke, Travis (Kim) Myers, Trina (Chris) Shortridge, Ashley Myers, Carson Myers and Michelle (Joe) Myers; fifteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in Tennessee and Maryland.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Sherrill was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Jones Myers in 2003; sisters, Maude (Robert) Winkler, Virgie (Ron) Scott, Hazel (Daniel) Tolliver, Ruth (Mitchell) Enich, Irene (Joseph) Berti, Pauline Myers; and one brother, Robert Myers.

Friends may call today, Friday, February 12, 2016 from 5-7:00 PM and Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 10:00 AM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor Wally Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be in the Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
