Joseph A. "Joe" Hozvicka, 69, of Brunswick, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.

Joe was born May 1, 1946 in Saub, Germany and came to the United States with his family in 1951.

He was a 1967 graduate of Brooklyn High School and had attended Tri C Community College. Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and retired in 2002 as a truck driver.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, the former Carole A. Watson; two daughters, Tammy (Al) Phillips of Brunswick and Constance; one son, Daniel; two grandchildren, Mikaela and Paige Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline (Hozvicka) Borlak and step-father, John Borlak.

Graveside services for the family will be held in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
