Marcella L. Acierto, 95, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the Meadows of Providence, Sandusky, Ohio.

She was born March 12, 1920 in Peru Township, Ohio, to the late John and Anna (Mehen) Hay, and was a lifelong area resident.

Marcella was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and was a 1938 graduate of St. Paul High School. She retired in 1978 from General Telephone, where she had worked for 28 ½ years as a service representative. Marcella was a former employee of Philco in Sandusky, Ohio. She was a former member of the Moose Auxiliary, and St. Paul Ladies Auxiliary. Marcella was a member of the Independent Telephone Pioneers of America, and I.B.E.W. She enjoyed playing bingo, and reading.

Marcella is survived by her children, Gerald "Jerry" and Kathleen Acierto of Milan, Ohio, and Judy and Edward Schrader of Port Clinton, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle) Acierto of Huron, Ohio, Rick Mussell of Huron, Ohio, Michael Acierto of Sandusky, Ohio, Michael (Nichole) Mussell of Columbus, Ohio, Terry (Scott) Crooks of Norwalk, Ohio, and Laura Semlitz of Brandon, Florida, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank V. Acierto in 2006, by her siblings, Cletus P. Hay, Benjamin Hay, Mary R. Smith, Agnes Liedorf, Anna Kessler, Otilia Beck, and Verena Hay.

There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Paul Schreiner will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
