Jean B. Wimmer

Jean B. Wimmer, age 84 of Sandusky, left her family peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Great Lakes Transitional Care, Sandusky.

She was born January 19, 1927 in Monroe, MI, and graduated from Monroe High School in 1946.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky.  Jean retired from New Departure Hyatt after 31 years in 1984, she also worked for Cedar Point as an asst. housekeeper for 14 years at Hotel Breakers, and she volunteered for Firelands Regional Medical Center.   She is a member of the UAW local 913, Mended Hearts Association, and a  life member of Sandusky Amvets. She had a love of music ,especially the organ and piano, which she played beautifully.  For many years she volunteered her skills for Sandusky City Schools playing for programs.  She also had a great love for animals.

She is survived by her husband Marcus Wimmer; daughter Marci (Joseph) Williams Jr.,Phoenix, Az; two sons Edward Wimmer, Sandusky and Bradford (Beth Poggiali) Wimmer, Sandusky; five grandchildren Lauren, Grace, and Clayton Wimmer, Sandusky, Corey(Jenni) Williams, Maumee, and Adam(Jessica) Williams, Los Angeles, California; two great grandchildren Addison and Ryleigh William; sister Marlene Smith, Monroe Mi; three nieces; and special friends Warren and Sharon Hixon.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Enhart and Lola (Lehr) Lorenz.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia and from 9:00 AM Monday until time of services at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky.  The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate.  Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
