James J. Bores

James J. Bores, 91, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away Thursday evening, March 31, 2016 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, Ohio.

He was born March 26, 1925 in Monroeville, Ohio to the late Alpha and Lena (Dolce) Bores.

Jim graduated from Monroeville High School in 1944, and received his Bachelor's Degree from Bowling Green State University. He was a Major in the United States Air Force for 26 ½ years, and served in W.W.II, Korea, the Cold War, and Vietnam. Jim retired from the service in 1969, and returned to the Monroeville area where he was a Monroeville Junior High School Science teacher. He also coached football, and basketball, and substituted for many years after his retirement. Jim enjoyed gardening, walking, playing cribbage, and cards.

He is survived by his children, Elizabeth A. and Stephen Douglas of West Chester, Ohio, Kevin J. and Patricia Bores of North Mankato, Minnesota, Douglas A. Bores of Cabot, Arkansas, Ronald J. and Lorraine Bores of Fostoria, Ohio, Andrew J. and Michelle Bores of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Nicholas D. and Kari Bores of Navarre, Florida, 17 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.

Jim is also survived by his sister, Barbara Wagner of Sandusky, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by wife, Rosemary L. Bores in 2003, by his brothers, Albert, Richard, and Leander Bores, and by his sister, Betty Andres.

Friends may call on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
