Charles E. "Chuck" Martin

Charles E. "Chuck" Martin, 68, residing in Sandusky, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Stein Hospice Care Center.

Chuck was born on October 30, 1947 in Fremont, OH to the late Charles L. Martin and Althea (Bradshaw) Clark.

He owned and operated Cardinal Fence Company and retired from Civilian Marksmanship Support Detachment, Department of the Army. Chuck was a life time member of the Amvets and the VFW. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 and received the Purple Heart. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran who fought and sacrificed for this country. He was an honorable man who took care of his family and lived life to the fullest. Chuck was an avid fisherman. In his spare time, he enjoyed his garden and flowers as well as spending time with his family and friends.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Linda (Maschari) Martin, whom he married on December 17, 1994. He is also survived by his children, Charlotte Freeman of Tiffin, Charles L. Martin. of Fremont, Randy (Lisa) Maschari of Milan, Scott (Felicia) Maschari of Port Clinton and Kelly (Andy) Canterbury of Sandusky; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Sandra (Ed) Beckley, Brenda Holmer, Teresa (Roger) Clark, Clifford (Diane) Clark II, Tony (Sue) Clark, Tina Beckley and Kevin (Marsha) Clark and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by his sister, LaDonna Perry; step-father, Clifford Clark Sr. and a very special mother-in-law, Ruth Pfleiderer.

Friends may call on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum 2602 Bogart Road, Huron with Melanie Guzman-Martinez Chaplain presiding. Entombment will follow.
